Alpacas!

I got a chance to visit an Alpaca Farm this past weekend. I always
have a soft spot for any type of animal, and this was true for these guys too. What amazed me most was their temperament. I've been around livestock before, and usually you dress for occasion. Mostly because you don't want to be wearing your favorite shirt when a cow decides to start nibbling on it. Alpacas are very respectful of your space which was surprising. I was shown that the easiest way to herd them is to walk forward with your arms out wide, and they just move before you get there. They are also super curious, so while being a little stand-offish, they will eventually come say hi just to check you out.
These photos were taken pretty close together,
I thought the change in expression was pretty cool.
A breed of alpaca called Paco-Vicuñas.

Thanks to Jefferson Farms for letting me take pictures, and giving a good home to our chickens!
